You know.... the one that puts it in "Car Mode" automatically, and charges it (supposedly, but that part may have been an early rumor).

I see that the Multimedia Cradle will be available day before Thanksgiving; anyone heard about the car dock?

You can get the car dock online; my friend got his in the mail the other day.

I got mine from the Verizon store on the 6th when I got my Droid. It doesn't come with a car charger (which was already known), but it is the motorola one.

I instantly regretted NOT buying the car dock when I got my Droid. I tested out the GPS navigation and it's EXCELLENT.

I'm going to go to the Verizon Store tomorrow and return my unopened media dock (my computer crashed) and get the car dock.

Isn't there an application on the android market for the droid that enables those features without spending 30 dollars?
dock runner
dockrun
dockrunner

something like that.

I bought mine from the Verizon Store the other day.
2 day delivery.

One thing I think is going to be a problem though, I suspect those who keep their phones plugged in all the time may stress the USB jack from the cars vibration.

A better design would be a fixed cable like the multi-media station.
They also should have allowed a hole for the camera in the mount.

Haven't looked yet, but if this is true, then it is probably better to use this app with a cheaper universal windshield mount

edit: atleast this mount is cheaper than the tomtom iphone mount that goes for 130 bux

It was available in stores here (Fayetteville, NC) opening day but I got the multimedia dock and modified it (turned the tiny little magnet around) so it starts the navigation menu instead.
I'm a delivery driver and the way my dash is (scion xb has gauges centered leaving open space directly in front of you) this works much better. Plus jumping into the car and not having to worry about wires is immensely convenient.

JasonExcellent idea!
I really think the USB jack is going to be stressed using my car dock.
There are times I do need the car dock, but for regular driving, the multimedia dock makes perfect sense.
