OK... At Yuletide, I shall be making my first foray into the world known as ANDROID by purchasing a white HTC Hero (yum yum).

I wish to make it look stonking by putting a custom ROM on it - Custom clock etc... Like this:

Now I've seen names like:

OpenHome
Cyanogen )although they tell me it doesn't work on Hero
AHome
and a few others...

Which is better for customization and speed and is it easy to set them up?

You can head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=475 to get themes that affect the entire OS but you must get a theme compatible with your current rom. If you get a home replacement app like ahome or open home or dxtop or pandahome or GDE etc etc the theme only affects the home screen.

The custom clock is likey part of a theme. Get the theme and you'll get the custom clock too.

I don't own a Hero phone myself so I don't know what if there are any custom themes/roms build for your phone though. Maybe somebody else can chime in.

Yeah, I kinda guessed.

I was kinda hoping someone who knew answers could be the first reply.
