I got the new Cliq the first day it came out and have been impressed with the phone except for a couple things. My brother has the g1, which he's rooted, and he's got some amazing apps, which made me trade up from my blackberry. What I wish the phone had was an auto power on & off application. My phone charges so much quicker when my phone is off and what I liked about my old blackberry is that if I turn my phone off and I have an alarm set, my phone will auto power up when my alarm goes off. I tested my cliq and it does no such thing.
You may be wondering why I'd want to shut my phone off at all, but at times I just do and hate having to change all my notification settings to not vibrate.
Does anyone know if such app or ability exists on the android? And if it doesn't can someone please please PLEASE develop one?

I'm not going to really be that caring or specific to your full posts.
But there is an application that will turn your phones data network off, and all that, basically airplane mode, while it charges.
And you can set the from when to when times manually.
I don't know the app name, but I think that's what you're looking for.
I guess I'll try and find it.
But in the event I don't return just search the market for tages

Let's see I've found.
Locale Sync Plug-in
and Locale is a pretty good location based app that will change your controls pending on where gps says you are, it's interesting but I don't mess with it.
I'm pretty confident I was referring to "Battery Booster Lite (beta)"

The difference between the Androids and the Blackberries is that the blackberries never truly shut down unless the battery is pulled out. Other than that they just go into a sort of hibernation mode. For your Cliq, just put it in Airplane mode. The radio uses a majority of the battery, so just turn that off. And you don't have to manually adjust all your notifications to not use vibrate, just put the phone into silent mode. The alarm still sounds in silent mode.

I need this kind of application too, desperately. Just toggling on Airplane mode is far not enough. Anybody knows any application to completely auto shut down and turn on the Android phone (Samsung galaxy tab)?
