View Full Version : Google calendar sync
Hello everybody,
(I am not native, so please excuse my english)
I recently got my hands on a brand new HTC Tattoo (Android 1.6 Cupcake if I'm not mistaken), and there is an issue that I don't know how to resolve.
Even though both my phone and my google calendar are correctly set on the same time zone (Paris, GMT+1) (checked that maybe a hundredth time on both sides), there is a 1h offset between the events stored in google calendar and the same events automatically synchronised on the phone.
E.g.: an event scheduled at 9.00PM in google calendar, appears scheduled à 8.00PM on the phone.
Anybody as seen the same problem ? Any though on how to solve it ?
Thank you in advance.

Firstly, you speak better English than most native people :)
The menus I'm about to describe will be in a different language for you of course, and I understand that you've already said you've checked these, but double check on the phone in Menu -> Settings -> Date & time -> Select time zone, is set to one of the GMT+1 entries.
Also, Menu -> Settings -> Locale & text -> Select Locale, is set correctly.
In Google Calender online, check Settings -> Your Current Time Zone is set to GMT+1.
If all of those are set to the same, then try:
Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Calendar Storage -> Clear data. When you next access the Calendar app it will re-sync with Google in a few seconds. That might fix it too.
Thank you for your answer :p
I checked, double-checked, triple-checked everything you suggested, unfortunately none of these worked :'(
I am wondering if the problem could come from a different management of summer/winter time between both sides, but I could not find any option to set this, so... I don't know...

Many applications are using GTM and not local time. I saw that in other cases too.

There are similar problems described here: http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f7/g1-google-mail-stuck-in-the-usa-27256/
Alas, no fix for that either.
Erf, that sucks :s
Especially since the calendar application I am using is the one originally provided with the phone, not some random app I could have downloaded on the market...
Well thank you all for the feedback, I guess I'll have to find a way around...
For your information, I just dug up some (maybe) useful information on the problem. See here (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=39dde4d4dc0d5f1a&hl=en).
