rooting g1, help!

Hello all, sorry for being a noob. I have a small problem with rooting my G1. I bought my G1 from the states. I then got the unlock code. Then i moved to germany where i live now. I began to root my phone and then Got lost when you have to re-register in google to sync your data. I began to do that but then my phone said (cannot connect to google servers)..well..im in germany! so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. again, sorry for a noob question. thanks all!

You'll probably want to find the APN settings for your carrier and set them up so you can register. What firmware are you using? There are ways to use wifi if you don't get cellular internet.

Yep - I agree... it'll be because it only knows about the US APNs as they're specific to the location where you buy the phone.

Of course, if you have WiFi on, it should work fine with that too.
