Knowledge on rooting

Ok I've had my G1 since August and since I'm locked in for another 1.5 years and not rich I'm gonna have to stick with my G1 for awhile. Most of you are very good at rooting what I wanted to know how long did it take to get done, because I could really really really use the wireless router app and my phone has been sluggish and I heard that rooting makes t run smoother. Plus I'm nervous imma brick it lol:eek:

Use the guides from here and it should be OK, that's what I did and had no problems.

900i, just read your post and checked out the instructions. I just bought a G1 off eBay, and this seems like the way to go, but I, like others (I've been lurking) am concerned I'll "brick" it. Can this happen during the upgrade?

Suppose there's always a chance, but I have rooted mine twice and returned back to stock once with no problems.

there is a good link in my sig . its very hard to brick a g1 ! the only way i know to brick a g1 is to flash the spl before the radio . remember , radio before spl always and you will be fine :)
