buying ebay g1's

i saw a few "new" g1s on ebay from hong kong. will there be any issues getting one of these? ive damaged mine pretty bad and i wanna start over with a fresh new one. theyre sub-100 bucks so theyre still on the affordable side.

anything i need to be wary about these?

I'd be pretty careful with these types of things... A year ago I would have told you just to go for it, but just recently I got burned by a similar situation, so my advice would be to try to stay domestic or at the very least make very sure you're covered under eBay and Paypal buyer protection policies if you're going to buy anything from anyone you feel a bit nervous about

If you go ahead, you may need to make sure that what you'are getting is the right model. I got mine from eBay store in USA, assuming it is an USA model for more than a year ago. Recently, I found out it was an European model when I tried to use it on AWS. A lesson learned for me.
