HTC Hero !! No Service !!

Hello,

I am facing a strange problem. Today I purchased an unlocked Hero. I have to different SIM cards from different service providers. I installed the first one and worked w/o any problem.

Later on, I tried the other provider's SIM and on the screen it says No Service. Sometimes, I see the reception bars but cannot make and receive any calls.

What may be the reason ? I assume that there is no problem with the hardware as it is working with one of my SIM cards.

I would say poor signal from the second SIMS supplier
Or
The phone isn't actually unlocked

Try a friends sim (from another network) if that works, call their customer support!

I tried the second SIM on a different phone and it worked. So, the problem is not about the signal quality. As my other SIM works fine, I believe there is no hardware problem.

Phone works on Orange's original ROM by the way.

Nice going you can get a signal on Orange. Seems like everywhere I go in the Bristol area I'm constantly going out of signal. Ironic, as there HQ is here.
