Hey Fellow G1 Peep,
So I recieved my order from Body Guardz for the full body kit for the G1. Ordered it on Friday morning and got it on Tuesday, so it was pretty fast. I watched the video online and read the instructions twice to make sure I understood how to use it. It took me about an hour to install it. (I didn't install the screen part because the OEM plastic seem to work just fine for now) Overall, I think the fit is great. The plastic seems to be really stuck on there so hopefully it doesn't peel of anytime soon. The surface of the body guardz is very smooth, which I wanted as opposed to the supposed lemon peel of the other similar products. They cut the plastic very well and it covers as much of the G1 as is possible. Overall I am very happy.
Concerns:
Some concerns I have is that it seems to collect specs of lint on the edge, but doesn't really show fingerprints. Since the plastic ends at the edges of the devices it does cause friction when sliding it into the G1 case, but hopefully it holds and doesn't start to peel off.
Tips:
Use a crap load of the included water. You can't use to much and it will go on better when really wet. I actually used more that have the bottle, so I topped it off with water and it worked just fine. Take the battery cover off when installing the body guardz to it.
Let me know if you all have any questions and I'll update you all on its durability.

The pics are from a G1. I have 2.

Don't mean this rudely, but why would anyone use this product? It makes the phone look like s*@t.

That one almost looks as bad as the invisibleSHIELD. Apparently none of the full body films are very good.

It all depends on how much time and care you want to put into it... handling, patience and enviorment during installation really influence the results.

I don't know about that. He said he spent one hour installing that and I installed an invisibleSHIELD which took me about 2 hours. Peeled it off and threw it away because it looked pretty much the same as his in the pics.

I really thought mine looked really good. Of course I got ALL of the bubbles out and it looks like a glossy black, the grip on the phone is better, and I have yet to scratch my phone. The pictures don't do it justice but in person it looks really nice.

It looks nice!
One thing I noticed is that you covered the part circled in blue and I used the same piece of skin to cover the part circled in orange... :D

I wish someone could post pictures of a G1 with invisibleShield so we could compare the covering area and cut pattern.

Not gonna rag on any one..... but I could have let my 9 year old spend an entire day doing mine and it would have looked like crap.... quality of the results are due to the installer....

It is just a personal opinion thing on the looks. As long as it does its intended job, you did a great job putting it on.

As far as an invisible shield goes- how does it look JUST ON THE SCREEN ?

Agreed. Its not always the product. I got some dust under my screen cover even after wiping it a TON before placement. :( That's my only complaint, I would have loved a static and dust free environment! :D

i did my screen and i think thats all i'm doing.(it came out OK...not great -- i wish i left the sticker on that came with the phone, it felt better) -- i bought the full body one, But i dont like how it looks glossy. i'll just stuck with the case that came with the phone and the screen protector.

I don't mind getting the body scratched. It's bound to happen. My BB is all scratched up but still works great. Not a big deal to me. I would only want to protect the screen.

i think it looks good they do say it takes about 48 hours for all the moisture to dry up and the phone looking like how it's suppose to
i have my kit at home already waiting for my G1 to put it on

Yeah, the pics don't really do it justice. After in the install, the phone looks more like the brown G1 with it's glossy finish. You can't really tell it's there. I just looks like a deep gloss.

Not so sure about the hard clear covers... you can see the crap that makes its way under them.

How is the 'grip' on the touch screen for the Body Guardz? I read reports from the Invishield thread that there is noticably more grip when using the touch screen, is this the same case?

Have anyone tried InvisibleShield? I have a full body protector on my white G1 and it looks great. Kind of looks like the back of a white iPhone 3g.... Very glossy which I like

I removed my BestSkinsEver skin and applied a skin from PhantomSkinz and love it.
I personally havent used an InvisibleShield but i have seen them in person and the orange peel/texture makes it look cheap. I'll try to post pics tonight of my new skin . It feels much better than my old BSE skin (not all rubber like) and it covers more.

Is there any way you can post a few pics to show us how it looks on the white G1?

Everybody seems to have it in black and I have been trying to find someone who has the bodyguardz on a white G1.
