We've been sooo busy here at Big In Japan (http://www.biggu.com/) since the G1 launch, we haven't had time to make a proper website for ShopSavvy. Our friends here at androidcommunity.com were generous enough to create this forum so you can give us feedback, report issues, and receive general support.

Right now we're hard at work on the next iteration of the software, so if you have ideas and feature requests, we'd love to hear them. I'll be checking these forums at least once a day.

Thanks,
Jason

Love the program. The only complaint I have had with it is it rarely, if ever, will give me prices for the local stores nearby. Typically it will only get Amazon.com prices. But this is still at great reference to start with. Thanks for the app, keep up the great work you all.

I too love the app -- Only thing I've see is that one time I scanned a book it pulled up the right title and picture -- but the prices and links(to amazon at least) pointed to a Spiderman Video Game.

Love the app so far. One feature request that I have is for the results for web prices to include shipping, or otherwise inform of the shipping cost right inside the ShopSavvy interface. Some mobile don't show the shipping cost before checkout or makes you jump through many hoops to see it. This would be a very helpful and time saving feature.

I don't think we've integrated any store data from toys r' us or babies r' us just yet, but those are definitely two retailers we'd like to include. The Walmart thing is odd, currently whenever someone scans an item, we try to make sure it's in stock at walmart before we display any local results. I'm beginning to have doubts as to how accurate their inventory system is though (at least the one we're using).

Open Social plugin to have favorite lists posted (that also have a link to purchase said item) to myspace, etc..

Toggle switch for turning on/off the GPS from within the program (hopefully this should be alleviated by a toggle option in the status bar, but for now within the program would be nice)

Shipping cost would be nice

MMS of item's image would be good for making sure you're looking at the right product if you're out shopping for someone.

they should add a feature for us "users" to add photos and scan from products that dont show up when we scan from there databases

one thing i would really love is the ability to add notes once an item is saved to a wish list. this way i can remember if i saw something for a lower price at a local store taht isnt in the database.

Just thought I'd start by saying I love the program... it works great, but I did have a bit of trouble today using it at Walmart and Circuit City.

First Wall-E, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang BluRaywere not in stock at the Roseville, MN circuity city store... which was fine, I wasn't aware until this thread that local results are supposed to check the inventory. More important was that they had the Wanted BluRay was not the listed price 19.99 from ShopSavvy, but was 34.99. Tried even scanning the UPC in store, and it showed up as 34.99...

Ran into a similar problem at Wallmart, where the only thing of those movies in stock were Wall-E, however Wall-E and the Pixar Short Films Blurays were showing up as $5 less on my phone than in person. Unlike Circuit City, where the prices in store matched their online price, and did not match the ShopSavvy claimed price.... Walmart's online prices matched the ShopSavvy prices, but did not match their in-store price (and for an odd policy reason, they do not match their own online prices).

Also, Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid (Blu-ray) is not sold in walmart stores, it is online only, however the ShopSavvy program pulled up a local find.

Not trying to complain, overall, still love the program, but wanted to let you know some specifc examples of some issues that I've experienced.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.. we use a lot of 3rd party price aggregators to back our database and unfortunately they aren't always 100% accurate.. It's a tough problem, not all merchants make it easy to find out if they have items in stock or not, etc..

Yeah I scanned a can of beer (Budwieser product) and was told no matching products located... Beer, Wine and liquor needs to be a priority. I hate driving to stores to find out they are closed, don't carry it or whatever. I'm not a wine drinker and one of my guests asked me about a selection so the idea popped in my mind to use ShopSavy and to my embarrassement it would not locate or provide any details for anything beer/wine related.

What's up with the reviews if you can't even post one? Found that to be very odd when I was going to post a review on a product. So where does these reviews come from and why is the sort by rating and ads taking up 50% of the viewing space for reviews? I think because this is a phone app that the reviews should come from peoples handsets and not some 3rd party site that we don't have access to.

That shop on the go banner in the footer looks like ads... I finally clicked it. You should just make that another menu selection in the program itself so it flows easier. I feel like I am using two different products which makes navigating a bit harsh.

Other than that, it's a good start. I hope to see some really good improvements as I would love to get a lot of use out of this to save me time. Thanks.

I would love if you could use it as a grocery list (or other shopping list). I could scan some of the groceries I buy and hopefully it would keep them in a list. When I need them I can check mark them and then as I put them in the cart I can either uncheck mark them or scan them and it won't delete them from the list but rather mark them in some way to distinguish between the things you still need to buy and what you already have.
By the way, your program is my favorite on the Android OS. Very neat to show to people and a great shopping tool . Just wish it could do a shopping list as described above.
Thanks
