Hey Guys,
I am in the market to upgrade my Bluetooth headset. I have been reading some reviews and narrowed it down to the Jawbone 2 or the BlueAnt V1. I know the Jawbone is suppose to have the best sound quality and noise cancellation but I read the V1 is also very good and has voice dialing capabilities. The demo I saw for the BlueAnt was on a iPhone not sure if it will work as well with the voice recognition on the G1. I know quite a few staff on here are using the V1. Does anyone have experience with both of these? Which one of these should I go with? The price is not an issue. Mods if this post is in the wrong section please feel free to move. Thanks!

I gave the voice dialing function of both headsets a try at my local T-Mobile store (they let you open just about anything!).

I couldn't get either one of them to work.

The headset made the sound like voice dialing was active, but the phone didn't respond.

Since Voice Dialing is a seperate app daemon on the G1, I have a feeling that whatever command the headsets are sending is NOT the command the G1 needs to invoke voice dialing.

Consequently, I left the store without either headset. The search continues.

I think I will be ordering the Jawbone II. After doing some more research it appears the voice command on the V1 is a big appeal to the iPhone users since their phone does not have this capability built in as the G1 does. From what I read all the V1 does is dials what the presets are so if you say "voicemail" it will call speed dial 1 weither that is your voicemail or not. In order to save other numbers to voice dial you must hold a button down for a few seconds when receiving a call from them only. There are presets such as Home, Work, and Favorite then you can only have 9 additional. I haven't used the app yet on my G1 but since we already have voicedialer built in, I would think this would work through bluetooth therefore defeating the need for an additional voicedialing bluetooth headset. Can anyone confirm if you can use the voice dialer app with bluetooth? If that is the case I will be going with the Jawbone II as it has the best sound quality and noise cancelleation hands down. If I was mislead on anything I read and stated above please enlighten me. :D

I just got this headset and it doesn't work with the voice dialing app out of the box. It sounds like it suppose to work on the ear piece since it beeps but nothing actually happens on the phone. Someone will probably need to modify the default voice dialer on the G1 or make a new app. The Noiseassassin is top notch though. I sit next to a noisy AC unit and had static coming out of my speakers and it was still crystal clear to the caller.

I just received my jawbone 2 today, and love it. Voice option doesn't work,it could be a G1 fault, but dot care because I dot use that option anyways. I tried the noise assault option when talking to friend and it works fine. The two hidden buttons (noise assassin, power and other functions) seem to work fine as well. As for the fit, I probably have a smaller ear than most, I used the small ear bud with the metal ear loop, bent just a bit,a perfect fit. I have a holster with a magnet which does affect the compass and seems to have an affect the jaw bone 2 as well(a little static). I can work around the small things, but to make a long story short, A great purchase. Bought it amazon for $78.

I think that top headsets have the different features. Ex. JawboneII is good at noise-canceling, BlueAnt V1 is good at voice control. If you would to compare top 5 headsets, visit http://www.coolcheapest.com/Headsets/223--BlueAnt_Wireless_V1_Wireless_Cell_Phone_Headset.as px . You can also choose the best dealer to buy from there.

I tested out both and ended up keeping the jawbone 2. I like the voice control on the blueant but the sound quality just wasn't as good as the jawbone 2.
