I am not affiliated with PhantomSkinz in anyway, other than being a very satisfied customer.

I recently bought a T-Mobile G1 and started researching screen/body protection for it before receiving it. After reading many reviews and checking out other vendors of these products, I decided to go with PhantomSkinz after seeing pictures of a BlackBerry Storm they did.

They are located in Gilbert, AZ, so I was able to make an appointment and have it installed (for FREE!). If you are not local, you will get two sets of skins in case you damage one or mess up the install.

After 24 hours of drying, it looked absolutely perfect. There is absolutely no "orange peel" effect that people seem to get with vendors that use other films. The body coverage was suprisingly good, virtually every surface is covered (including media card door, USB port cover, etc.). I didn't expect individual pieces of film for the buttons, covers, etc.!

The only thing that bothers me a bit is that when the screen has large sections of light colors, you can barely see some lines in the film. I assume this is from the manufacturing process. At all other times, you cannot even tell the film has been applied.

I've bought two different casings so far. Didn't like either one of them. I'll just leave my phone in my old case I used for my t- mobile wing. Seems that the fit is never really good enuff for the G1.

I store mine in the pouch that came with the phone, and my skin looks as good as it did when i first put it on. Not one part of it is peeling and there isnt any lint trapped in any of the edges

How is yours holding up?

I applied mine today and its all settled in, except a few bubbles which should go away in the next 24 hours. This is my first time trying Phantom Skinz, I have used BSE/IS before. Surprisingly, Phantom Skinz was the easiest by far to apply, everything went on smoothly and the cutouts were perfect. I did not have to take off and reapply at all, which was great! But I have one gripe.. I put my Phantom Skinz covered G1 in my bookbag and yes there was keys in the same pocket. I was hoping that my phone would have come out legit and the screen protector would have done its job. But there is a scratch or a couple of them on the Phantom Skinz screen protector which don't come off after rubbing. With BSE/IS whenever I stuffed it in a pocket with keys or coins, or when I take my keys and scratch the screen protector with it it comes out clean. No scratches, lines or anything. But with the Phantom Skinz, it seems like the scratch line seems to stay there and not go away! It is disappointing me but hopefully the lines will go away in a few days. Other then that, everything seems to be going smoothly with the skins! :]

It never dawned me to pay around 25$ for what is basically a piece of plastic…I got full body protection from gadgetshieldz.com (http://www.gadgetshieldz.com) for just 7 odd bucks and absolutely lovin it. Got free shipping too.
