After almost 2 months on here...I'm still amazed at the peeps who post useless postings. They don't say anything worthwhile. Just to get their over all postings up. With nothing worthwhile to say. Its a shame. We all play around...but if yu post something...at least say something worth it once in a while.

Lol Constellation. Thats more than a lot post. Kinda sad that most just type anything just to get their status up. We all like to joke around..once in a while. But there are peeps who just say dumb sh&it in every post. Just to pick up their status.

yeah. well this isn't going to stop people from making pointless posts.
I mean some stuff IS pointless. but technically this place is a community where we
converse and talk about different issues.

Sometimes that involves directly answering the question, and sometimes it involves talking around it.

In my opinion, unless a Lead Android posts a front page or makes a new rule about what should be in a post, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah I've been lurching around here for a long time and the general rule is to search before posting to avoid duplicates, and otherwise to post in the correct areas, BUT!

I do get pretty annoyed when people pop in a thread and say "yeah dude totally", or something to that effect; I have seen a number of these get deleted.

I personally don't like to play with it much because I one day dream of having more little green dots under my post count, but you can bump people reputation points down by clicking on the small scale icon if you see them doing something post-tardish repeatedly.

Uhem.. There is also an edit button.. A lot of folks will have 3 posts in a row on a single thread.

Since this thread isn't going to go anywhere... Anybody seen Vincent around? I think I am developing abandonment issues.. I know he took some time off at once point but...

I don't mind idle banter or a good argument upon occasion within a thread with some substance. Eventually most good threads dissolve into crap sooner or later anyway or just get abandoned.

Besides, this place is the most populated Android site so it's going to have a sort of "pop" appeal to it and attract a wide variety of characters. interesting how a post about posting useless postings has, well, ended up being just that. interesting how things work. ;)

i think stone has good intentions with this post, but pointing things out tends to, well, you know.

i'm glad android exists. i'm glad i see there are some peeps up here from all corners of planet erff, helping out...and being smart and funny at the same time. we forget what's important in life (queue sappy piano music) and focus on pointing out things we "know" so we can show others that we "know." that's reaching out from a place of need. when one sits back and let's the system around them speak it's true purpose - and one listens to/sees that purpose - then things truly crystallize. otherwise, we're just separate beings capable of consuming plant/animal matter and turning it into poop. we're not just that, are we?

PowerManager is a great way to maximize the G1's performance. i stick with two profiles i've made - Daily and Plush. Daily shuts WiFi and GPS off, leaves the screen on 5-minute timeout, etc. Plush is all-out - WiFi on, GPS on, screen timeout @ 10, etc. learn your battery and your phone and you will get what you need out of this thing. be the person who didn't drain/charge and hooked it up to a car charger right away AND installed every app under the sun, and you'll find you have an expensive rock in your pocket.

how was that post? i think i touched on the philosophical a bit. i think i pointd out some compelling stuff, spawned by stone's initial post - but i didn't throw him under the bus at all. i think i shared a little bit of myself with the community - and what good am i if you can't get a sense of who i am and what i'm about in every single thing i do? i also shared very legitimate content about the phone/apps/hardware/usage.

i'm feeling pretty aligned after this. i hope i don't get judged! i want Marduk inside MEEEEEEE!
