Hi Androids,
just wanted to keep you up to date with the latest version of AndNav2.
It is a Public Alpha but seems to work pretty fine.
It is NOT yet available for the US, just for:
Germany, France, Denmark, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Austria & Ireland
Find more infos and a Download-Link visit andnav.org:
http://www.andnav.org/... andnav2-public-alpha
If you have further questions, please ask them on the andnav-forums, rather than on here, because I use to browse my own forum more often than this one
Best Regards,
Nicolas (& Pascal)
Thanks Nicholas.
Hey give us some update here on AC about what we can look forward to here in the US.
Did you ever work something out as far as turn by turn with Google?
Hmm...no answer? Try posting on his forum...I suspect he checks his forum more often than AC....
Realtime Turn-By-Turn is impossible with Google - due to the GoogleMaps- ToS.
See:
andnav.org/...why-is-there-no-realtime-routeguidance-in-andnav1
Imo < 1 hour is not to bad as a response-time :-P
Best Regards,
Nicolas
I don't ever worry about you getting back to us, Nicolas. You've never let us down before.
There's no navigation in the US, but the map functionality is better than Google's already; offline mapping is great.
I see there's a Google Maps renderer. The routing data are still generated using OSM right?

Why don't you just write a version of AndNav1 that does realtime turn-by-turn and only release it through your website? I'm sure more than enough people would find it there even if it wasn't available through the market.
Because that is also illegal! Its not a issue of the Market, but the GoogleMaps Terms of Service:
By the way, you could make GasBot interfere with AndNav1/2 through our API: andnav.org/...interfacing-with-andnav
[Edit]
@betawind exactly. Its not Google, but the Data-Providers behind them. (TeleAtlas, Navteq...)

Best Regards,
Nicolas
