Something I noticed while managing applications on my G1, is that as the Android Marketplace grows, it occupies more space on the phone, therefore taking up precious internal memory. Everyday that passes by, Ive seen my available internal memory shrink, as the size of the marketplace grows, as more apps are submitted.
=[
Im hoping we can store the apps on our SD pretty damn soon. Can anybody verify if this is true? As the marketplace grows, that it takes up more internal memory?
Marketplace doesn't take up internal memory, but the installed applications do. Please search as this has been covered 1,342,003 times
I also hope they'll allow you to store apps on the SD card in the future.
I don't think they have fixed this issue but google or tmobile needs to get this fixed asap. We all payed good money for the phone and service and after only one week our memory is full. This is unacceptable. The problem seems to be with the market app only being able to dl to internal memory. What were they thinking when they wrote this? I have already had to uninstall a few apps because of space. I understand the os and phone is new but this issue needs to be resolved soon.
When you go into SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS
It displays of the size of each program on the phone. The size of the marketplace has gone up 4MB since I've gotten the phone, and the amount of available internal memory has gone down 4MB (not accounting for the apps ive installed). Can you explain that Jorsher?
My guess is that the market is keeping a locally cached list of the applications on the phone itself so that they don't have to serve out the huge list of apps with their descriptions and icons every time. This does seem like a serious issue and I think Google definitely needs to look into it. I only hope that there's some limit to that cache.

The problem is solved.
All we need is a rooted phone and one application: Android Mate.
While working with the system i came across a folder /data/DxDrm. Here all the log is generated and which is taking the system memory. Just move to this folder and delete all file with the extension DxLog and its done.
Users with less memory phones can additionally install applications from Android market and then take a backup of these to SD card using Apkotic. Then uninstall the applications and clean the DxDrm folder. Whenever required, the application cam be installed again from sd card in a jiffy.
I have ACER liquid with Android 2.1
Please do the above steps at your own risk.
