    Default Android Netbook?

Adroid Netbook? Is it worth developing one?
I just read an article about Microsoft trying to overcome Google's headlock as the main search engine...

    http://www.nytimes.com/external/idg/...softs-sec.html

It basically says that Microsoft's new OS is not gonna have all the bells and whistles but will require you to use Microsoft live to use them... (eh... Google Doc. clone?) I guess they are upset that you can do many of the necessary tasks via Google Docs for free that people would pay Microsoft $400 for a standard addition in retail stores... So I can understand them being upset...
How can Google get back on the attack if that is Microsoft's intention?

I also read a article about someone making a goofy R2D2 like Android PC... you can see it here...

    http://asia.cnet.com/crave/2008/10/2...et-the-g2-too/

    (from article...
) First Adroid PC but a lil goofy and lacks ground breaking ideas...

What if Android was further developed into a computer OS?
What if you can make touch screen net-books using the Android OS?
    Hypothetically I think it's possible...
The android OS supports touch screen... GPS... Wifi Support... a capable web browser... capable Documentation creator (Google docs) camera/video capability... virtual keyboard capability coming soon... bluetooth... can send email, plays videos plays music...
Add flash... a great battery, a couple usb ports, printer capability and the ability to download Google apps and Android apps cheap via Wifi
And you have a Android Netbook...
I made this for a different article... but dreamed it could be like this...

It would be small compact but requires wifi network... for net capabilities and Google Docs... But its made for the net and by the net so you know even if you system crashes or gets stolen your files are being virtually backed up... so this computer really doesn't need a hard drive unless it's for music, video or apps... 16GB mico or even a 32 GB micro (it wil be available if this is really developed...)
Would you buy one? Would it be worth producing? What additional hardware do you think should be added in ?

I think 1 Microsoft is going to have a hard time making ppl locking into there product exclusivley like that. Maybe 5+ yrs ago they could have gotten away with it. But now with Apple, and Google (espcially google for less or free) in the business i just don't see the margins being what they used to be.

Just look at microsoft office. MS had no choice but to hurry up and port it to Mac OS or risk loosing all together the revenue they used to have. Truth be told most ppl aren't loyal to just one product. What ever gets the job done is what ppl want, and choices to do so.

Exaclty. Although i will say this: at some point yrs down the line i would like them to try there hands at an Desktop OS. Once they do that I think they really change the way we compute in general.

after a day hands on with android i came to the conclusion that it could make a great entry level desktop or laptop OS for budget machines for those looking for basic computing. especially with the ease of the marketplace for installing apps..
