I 2nd this....
I know that there were some close to being ready just needing an actual device to get the voice capture working. Now that the g1 is out i was hoping to hear something soon but i still cant find any updates. Has anybody heard anything? This would be great for me because i work 100 feet underground and dont get any cell reception but wifi is abundantly available. Thanks

Well just to update, in addition to the sip stack that was ported back in March based on mjsip there is now a port of jain sip talked about here: http://jeanderuelle.blogspot.com/200...f-android.html
There is some talk about getting a RPT stack ported so that voice can be captured and streamed here: http://groups.google.com/group/mobic...8fbdd874083d49

You may check another solution that can be used to create telephony solutions. It is Ozeki VoIP SIP SDK (http://www.voip-sip-sdk.com) and it is for .Net that makes it very flexible with all the advantages of .Net technology.
Complete guides for Ozeki VoIP SIP SDK with PBXs: http://www.voip-sip-sdk.com/p_103-vo...lity-voip.html

This website also includes additional information on VoIP technology and enlists several sample programs that will help you make the first steps...
Im using sipdroid and to be honest, it works flawlessly over 3G and WIFI, and not so much over edge

WiCall is extremely cheap and works without any kind of weird setup. Pretty much install and play. $5 will give me like 16 hours to the US.
linphone is my choice. Open source, free with all the kinks.
