    Default Bettercut/Anycut "Make Your Own" New Message Shortcut

    Hello to all. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if a shortcut could be created with Bettercut/Anycut that would create a new message? I know that a direct shortcut to a specific contact can be created easily with these apps, but I was hoping a shortcut to a blank message that I could then choose the contact could be created. I use Chompsms as my default sms app (don't know if that matters) but would like the shortcut to use Chomp to create the blank message but the Android messaging app would be fine too. I know that Bettercut/Anycut have the make your own option and that it might be possible to create this shortcut that I am looking for. Unfortunately I am not knowledegable enough to create this shortcut myself and my searches have come up empty so far (I tried many forums with no success). If anyone would be willing to help me with this I would greatly appreciate it and I'm sure others would as well. I know that it only takes a few seconds to open Chomp and click new message but a shortcut direct from the homescreen would really be awesome. Thanks in advance for the help (If in fact this is even possible). On a side note I have been lurking in the shadows on this forum for a while now and I must say this is the best Android site out there (Staff and Members).

    Not exactly sure what spam or garageband has to do with my post? Maybe I did not explain it well enough, but definitely not spam and does not have to do with music at all. Anyways still looking for some help with this.

    I just looked at AnyCut for this and it wasn't available, unless we can get the stuff you need to fill out the forms on the "Create Your Own" shortcut.

    Yeah I searched both apps up and down looking for the option and came up empty. I was hoping someone would know what to enter in the "create your own" option to make this happen. I just don't know enough about the app or coding in general to be able to do it myself. Someone please help. Thanks

    hey

    I did get a note back from the dev. and this is what I was pointed to. I'm still researching this myself, no luck yet:

    AnyCut, "make your own":

    action: android.intent.action.SENDTO
    data: sms:

    To create a shortcut (via AnyCut) to compose an email.

    1. AnyCut > Make your own
    2. Action = android.intent.action.SENDTO
      Data = mailto:

    If you want a shortcut to a specific email address, just add it after the "mailto:" -- or leave it blank for a generic 'Compose' shortcut.

    Will this same entry work for BetterCut?

    I have to say, documentation and online help at that wordpress site, for this app sucks. What are the keyboard and onlays for? I've tinkered with them, and can't really tell what it does. The app itself seems very useful, and cool using pictures as the icon. I'm using this with Open Home. Thanks!
