Bloo vs. Babbler

JohnnyLicious, how can you say that "Babbler gets an update from a week to 2 weeks" when it's been out for about 2 weeks and was updated 8 times already ?



And that's not true either, there were two urgent bug-fixes (for bugs reported by our users) during the last 24 hrs.

Anyway, just dropped in to say that another update is coming in a matter of hours that improves caching of feed, album, friends etc. so that data is retained when you close the application and then start it up again!

Hey no problem, maybe you could shoot us a review like you did for Bloo hahaha, just kidding

As I've stated earlier - there being two competing apps is always better for users. I think we're both (Babbler and Bloo I mean) keeping it fair and I can only congratulate Dimitris on a successful launch of his application ( I still haven't had the chance to play around with it though - maybe I'll get it on slideme
And as for the updates - I personally think soon there will soon come a time when the most important bugs will be fixed in both apps and after a series of fast and small updates we will have a cool-off period, when we're working on the next major version and concentrate on new functionalities. Besides, people get easily annoyed when they have to go to Android Market and update every other day, so...

Btw. what I like most is when people say "I can't decide which is better so I'm keeping both" - I think that means we did a good job, right ?

We haven't set up a space for that yet... too much going on with all the releases haha

Important updates will always be posted on our Facebook page, that usually means when the 1.x version changes. 1.0.x versions will mostly be bug fixes and very minor adjustments.

I don't know what happened with handcent vs chomp, but I DON'T intend for this to turn into a flame war or anything, just keep it positive I believe both apps will really benefit from constructive criticism!

oh no no no no... what happened was two apps came out and competed head to head for months (hell they still do now.) and honestly they would get features around the exact same time so the competition was fierce. perfectly healthy, and both apps made each other stronger thats all...

I have both Babbler and Bloo installed as well. And while I like the feel of Bloo, I like the functionality of Babbler better right now.

I don't like that only 15 feeds can be read at a time on Bloo. Unless that changes that'll be a deal breaker for me. And I also don't like that it controls things for me, as maybe I'm a control freak but I like to set the settings myself.

I also don't like that it shows my hidden friends from my feed.. or maybe that's changed in the update, I haven't looked yet. If I've hidden those on Facebook I really want them hidden in Bloo as well.

Otherwise I like the layout of Bloo and the feel. And I like how the comments show, but I want all comments to show not just two.

Anyway I'll keep them both and see which I like better over the next while. Maybe I'll just always keep them both. LOL

Oh and the http://www.babblerforandroid.com/ site seems to be down now, I'm getting a Page Load Error.
