Bit the bullet and bought Babbler (tongue-twister!). I own both now, and gotta say...Babbler at the moment is better.

Bloo is barely beta. It has half the functionality of Babbler. I have no idea why Bloo is getting such praise at all. Especially for a paid app. It’s Babbler “light” right now.

I’m sure the developer is a great guy and that’s all cool, but he’s grown some kinda weird cult following and getting raves and praise for a light app… “Thanks, you rock” or “Thanks for making this for us” is posted all over the web. Seriously, he is getting paid so great guy or not…. The app is very weak [Now that is]

I have no doubt it will grow into a fantastic app, but just because we all waited so long for a facebook app doesn’t make Bloo better then it is. And 4 updates in 2 days doesn’t make it better either. I suspect most bloo fans never gave babbler a chance and were just waiting for this great Bloo blindly

And how is the UI so great? Is it because it has a blue background?I find it weak and limited up against Babbler

I have used both for a couple days and Bloo is lacking so much its silly [Again, today, I know it will change]
I open Babbler and I get:

    A much longer feed
    Faster feed load
    An inbox
    All peoples comments on statuses
More notifications. Bloo only has a few.
More preferences – Bloo has pretty much none. Load pics or don’t, Start on feed…

Anyway. All just my opinion, so grain of salt, but Bloo is weak as it stands today against Babbler.

I am still on the fence as to which one I like best. They both have their pros and cons.

Nice update for sure. Bloo 1.2.2 is pretty sweet also. I still think Bloo looks better, but they're both developing well.

I dunno if I'm the only one that wants this, but it'd be nice if these apps showed when items in your feed were posted. Such as "12 minutes ago", etc.
The elapsed time thing has been added to the feed in Babbler They also added some shiny textured tabs too, if that's your bag. Probably as a response to comments that the UI is too plain.

They have both made some great improvements. I still, personally, like Babbler better

I think it just boils down to preference. Bloos feed automatically expands people comments. I don’t like that. Babbler lets you press to see the ones you want as apposed to having to scroll through a ton of comments you don’t care about.

For now I’m going to stay with babbler. I just much prefer the direction it’s going over Bloo. I like the extra options and UI on babbler much better. Bloos “clean” UI is, in my opinion, just too basic. And its way way faster! That is pretty important.

I like the way Bloo is setup to update your own status much better, but everything else I like babbler

But I don’t mind throwing both these apps $1.50. Both guys seem to be putting in lots of effort so no reason not to keep them both for future reference. Who knows how they will both be in a few weeks and so on.

And $3 for a pair of facebook apps is fine by me. That way I can change back and forth as they evolve without having to keep buying and refunding….

I wouldn’t normally keep 2 paid apps for same function, but facebook on a mobile has grown in importance, so what the hell
