Default Gensoid - Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Emulator

Just got a hold of this emulator this morning, a very worthwhile $3.

Loaded up some ROMS so I thought I'd write a quick review.

Framerate and sound are almost flawless at 90% or so. Some games it wasn't even noticeable, for example Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Beavis & Butthead played damn near perfectly.

However, some games currently prove a bit too much to handle and the emulator closes when that happens. I noticed this with Streets of Rage 2, for example.

The options interface is the same as NESoid, for anyone that's familiar with that emulator. It's very easy to map keys and change settings.

The problem is that you will only really be able to play basic games on this emulator that don't require a great deal of buttons. Sonic is perfect because most of the time you only need two buttons, the right button and any of the three control buttons to jump. Anything more than that and you will suffer cramped hands very quickly!

I'll add more to this review later, just wanted to let you guys know this was out. And if anyone feels like adding screenshots, great!

As of last night there is an update to Gensoid which fixes the crashing/force close issue that was happening on some games.

Excellent. Streets of Rage 2 works perfectly for me now, it was making the emulator crash before.

Mario? on a Genesis emulator? You're looking for Nesdroid,.

Also Roms are probably against the TOS here so probably not a good idea to post links on how to get them.

On topic though: I tried out Gensoid and it worked amazingly well. There was no lag on playing games and remapping keys is a simple process. I love it, I'll be using this more often along with Nesdroid.

deserttopping why did you delete this thread? I don't see any ROMS posted in here. I've restored it anyway (obviously).
