Using Ubuntu 8.10

So I downloaded gmote and all that it asked for earlier today and it worked great not problem its a sweet app but when I went to search folders from computer to the phone icon it freaked out on me and hasn't worked since.

I've uninstalled on the computer and the phone reinstalled and its still not working. What in the world do I need to do now? If anyone has any ideas or could help it'd be great mainly because my searchs have failed. The only thing I find is a few post on here but unfortunatlly I'm a newb to Linux and I'm having a hard time understanding some of these codes I do see.
