I haven't cracked the code on this one yet. Sometimes I see the images that are embedded in incoming emails, sometimes I don't. Sometimes there's a "Show images" button, but most of the time there isn't. I'm looking at an email I received today that had two small jpg images embedded, but all I see on my G1 are two little boxes with question marks. If I go to gmail on my PC I see the images. I can right-click on the image and choose properties, and sure enough the image is a jpg and is coming from google's server. What's the catch?

I believe one issue is that pictures which are attachments show up fine but those that are embedded in the html of the message as an image do Not show up in the Gmail client on the phone. This embedding happens when you forward MMS messages to Gmail. You can view the embedded image through Gmail on a computer but not through Gmail client on the phone.
If that's the case, then this is entirely a client problem and should be easily fixed with some third party apps. I hadn't noticed that connection (attached vs inline) but I'm gonna research it.

i have the same problem. until they can fix this what i usually do is on my phones brower go to gmail.com and switch over to the desktop mode instead of the mobile mode(at the bottom of page) once I view it in the desktop mode i save the image to my phone![]()
cant put this damn phone down...
I'm not even talking about saving the image. I just want to be able to see the image in the email, like Al Gore intended when he invented it.
