iPhone style texting on the G1???

This seems like something more of a software change to android rather than an App, but would it be possible for them to make an update (optional for for those who agree with me) to make it possible to have the ability to text on the screen rather than having to open the keyboard everytime? For some reason, i do not like typing on the g1...maybe i have to get used to it, but the size seems too wide...

If you want a taste of typing text using the screen, download AndNav which is in the marketplace right now. It has an on-screen qwerty in both landscape and portrait modes. Enjoy!

I searched for AndNAv in the Marketplace, and I don't see it. Maybe I'm Blind, won't be the first time.

AndNav isn't in the Android Marketplace on the phone, but it is in the Android Community Market here:

Unfortunately I can't get it to install. I can only guess that the reason is that it was built for an older version of the firmware and it hasn't been updated for months

Update: 13:09 Eastern time -- I just checked and AndNav has apparently been removed from the TrackDroid website.

Update: 30 Oct 2008 -- A Beta of AndNav is now in the marketplace

The OP for this thread has 1 post. Therefore, he joined, just to ask this question... He could have just used the search and got his answer without wasting anyone else's time, or server space.

That link says AndNav is mapping software. Did it also have a keyboard?
