I've re-booted (soft and hard reset), I've tried doing it on wifi, 3g, and edge. Nothing is working. I've e-mailed namco, but if you look at the comments in the app market about pacman you can see that many people are having the same issue.

That sucks that many are having problems, I tried it and it seems fine. I was excited that it used the accelerometers, but found that it was hard to play like that, almost having to hold the phone vertical for the joystick neutral. bleh
Trackball seemed the most responsive.
