Just don’t want to mess with another online app. Gmail has so much all tied in nicely with android it would have been cool to use it.

    Thanks again for input!

Thanks. But without an exchange server it wont help. It just accesses exchange is all.

    But again, thanks!

You do realize you can change your email on gmail to send from another address right?

for instance I have email coming in from
    iamkizer.net
    links4jeeps.com

and its forwarded to gmail. When I send out email I have it sent out from @links4jeeps.com, but of course its wrapped up in a gmail wrapper.

Hmmm. Ok, so its forwarded to gmail…
    Gmail gets it instantly:
And Android pushes it via Gmail account?
And, when I reply, even though it was forwarded, not fetched, I can still reply with the account it was sent? [By choosing that account when I reply?]

    Thanks

    Excellent, Pretty much instant. Thanks!!

It tags mail “from gmail on behalf”… But I can live with that.

Anyway, faith in Gmail restored – Thanks for the help guys! Cheers

Man, I’ve been searching and fighting with this email for weeks. Trying other email clients, looking for exchange options, etc. Frustrating… The forwarding function works so well. In fact, almost perfect. And it replaces the gmail address with the me@work.com automatically. I kinda hate the way it stacks a back and forth thread though, but I’m sure I will learn to get used to it.

I don’t really understand why they even have the fetch pop when this way works so well. I just automatically went that route over forwarding when I set my android up. It seemed logical…

I couldn’t be happier now, it was my main beef with the phone. Love the droid and now I have push mail. The sky is blue, birds are singing….

Can someone please help me understand how this is done? I have my email forwarded to my gmail account and have applied a filter in gmail to attach a label to the forwarded email. I receive it without problem on my phone. However, when I click reply, all emails are always sent from my gmail address. How are you guys changing what address is used to send the email out from the phone? I have looked everywhere and see no way around it sending from my gmail account. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
