“We’re currently developing our software for the Android platform and are very excited by the promise we’re seeing with the ecosystem. The openness of the platform will help third party developers, including Quickoffice, build robust applications for the device. We believe the G1 phone addresses consumer demands for devices with a slick user experience and high-quality applications, and are looking forward to being a part of system,” said Paul Moreton, VP of product management at Quickoffice.

Sounds great. Don't know if I'll have much of a use for it, but would be nice to have that extra functionality if it's ever needed. Now, for a nice PDF reader... I could go for reading some books while on the go.

I wonder how QuickOffice will actually play out though. This would be a must have for me, but its cost around $70. From what Ive heard every app will be free from the store, maybe this will launch outside of the App Store?

Not every application from Android Market will be free. Some developers don't get outside funding and need to cover costs.
