Totally OT...
How did you do those screen shots with Cyanogen's ROM?
Hello A/C community, KON here once again bringing you yet another app review.
NAME
StudyDroid
PRICE
FREE
DIRECT DOWNLOAD
StudyDroid is a simple flash card app in which you can make your own flash cards and/or download flash card packs from their website.
(the last couple of packs in this picture are synced from their website)
It comes preloaded with some flash packs to get you started and get familiar with the app and how it works. At the bottom of each pack it will tell you how many cards are in the pack and how many cards you have marked as known (more on this later)
I downloaded some flash packs and synced them from their website, but you can make your own flash pack by simply pressing menu>add pack
If you long press an app pack, a menu will popup with a couple of options
-Edit Pack Name
-View Pack Details
-Shuffle This Pack
-Unshuffle This Pack
-Switch Front/Back
-Delete This Pack
TO DOWNLOAD FLASH CARD PACKS FROM THE WEBSITE YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER.
REGISTRATION AND SYNC
registration takes less than a minute to do, just go to www.studydroid.com and click on register.
After you register, press search (on the website) and start choosing which "flash pack" you want and at the bottom of the screen choose the "add this pack" option.
Now on the app press menu>sync you will be prompted to log in and then all your packs will show up.

APP PACKS
The actual flash cards are very simple, black and white cards easy to read
A red line along the top will let you know that its the front of the flash card and not the back. By clicking the card it will show you the the back
FRONT
BACK
Flash cards that are very long will have a bar on the side like the one on the browser to kinda let you know that it is a long flash card.
There is two things that i do not like about this option
1. You can only scroll using the trackball (i would like to see an option to just drag up and down using your finger)
2. As you can see from the picture it doesn't tell you that its a long flash card, so i would like to see something implemented to tell you that it IS.
To move from card to card you simply swipe left and right
APP PACK MENU
When you are on the actual app pack and press menu you will get 6 options
Edit Card
This option is self explanatory, if you want to edit the content of a given card just press this option and you can do so.
Add New Card
This option will add a new card to the pack that you have open
Delete This Card
Self Explanatory
Toggle Known
This option will mark the current flash card as "known" and push it to the very end of the pack. On the main page it will show on each pack the percentage of the cards you know (good tool for knowing if your gonna pass the test LOL)
You can also mark the card as known by simply long pressing the card
Add Image
This option does not work for me or it is broken. When i try to add an image i am taken to the gallery but when i pick an image it doesnt add it to the card.
SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA FOR KIDS FLASH CARDS
List View
This option will make all the cards appear in a list form so you can scroll thru them and click on one you are looking for.
White text means its the front of the card
Black text means its the back
SUMMARY
This app is a very simple app and very user friendly. It should really come in handy for all those students out there, and even if you are not a student you can always make flash cards for your family or just brush up on some stuff with the flash packs available in their site. Everything is very easy to setup and there is hundreds of app packs available for you to download FREE OF CHARGE from their website.
PROS
-very easy to setup
-simple layout
-you can download flash packs from their website
CONS
-simple layout
-scrolling on a card is limited to track ball
-sometimes when scrolling thru cards it felt slow
-add picture doesnt work
yes i know i listed "simple layout" as a pro and a con, this is because some might find the simple layout as a pro and some might say its a con. I know flash cards are not supposed to be eye candy because they are for studying but some layout options wont hurt.
KON'S RATING

I made a pack of cards on the website but how do i get them onto my phone??
I have a motorola Droid, does this only work for G1? You create a pack and then...? There's not an option to "sync to phone" or "send to phone" or anything.
So after creating a pack then what??? On my phone I click the StudyDroid app and it only gives directions for switching cards, marking as known, etc, not actually getting them from the website to the phone...
Then it says what are you waiting for?
Any advice?
Hello,
I am new to android community, can anybody tell me how to start with, to learn developing droid apps.
I have 2 yrs experience of programming in JAVA.Can i learn it?
You can share cards with other users of Flash Card Maker Pro via email or bluetooth file transfer. You would be able to develop <a href="http://www.flashcardmakerpro.com">Android apps</a> pretty quick if you have Java programming experience. You have to register with google for $25 and download the SDK for Eclipse to get started.
