Default Rogers HTC Dream Tethering App.

    Hello!

I just called Rogers and upgraded to the 1G data plan so that i could tether my phone - any advice on how to actually do it?
I tethered a Bell samsung phone before, and bell provided the application -- sorry for being such a noob :O I have the PdaNet site, will that one work?

    Thanks

the odd thing, its Rogers clearly states you can teather, why the force you to root is odd..

PDANet doesnt require root tho, right? I would rather not root if i dont have to. I am wondering what the limits of the free version are, given that i only need it for a short time.

I only need the tethering for the weekend, when i am covering a liveblog -- and risking bricking my phone :S

    UPDATE:

PdaNet does NOT require root access or hacking your phone's firmware in order to work. It is just a regular Android application that works on Android phones as-is. Currently PdaNet supports USB tethering on all Android OS's and devices. Tethering is fast, secure and will also charge your phone at the same time. Your phone can either connect to 3G data or WiFi, even through VPN and PdaNet will share the connection with your computer.

I have downloaded the app., i am just wondering what it counts until it expires? Is it # of uses, install time, amnt transferred? (i ask because, again, i only need it for fri, sat, sun, and if it has a 3 day expiry, i dont want to install it, have it last for 3 days and expire before i need it )
