why rc30 ? you need rc29 to root . read the link in my signature please , that might help you out

Oh ok. I was just following the instructions on the 1st page. I also tried rooting the longer way outlined in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...42480&page=162. When I tried to copy the DREAIMG.nbh file, it started but stopped with 4 minutes left.

Could the problem be with my SD card?

Is there space left on your sd ? You can always download it on a computer than move it to your sd card .

I have 1.47GB of free space on my sd. I've already tried downloading it to my comp and moving it to my sd. It did the same thing.

Hello sorry for being a noob. I have a small problem with rooting my G1. I bought my G1 from the states. I then got the unlock code. Then i moved to germany where i live now. I began to root my phone and then Got lost when you have to re-register in google to sync your data. I began to do that but then my phone said (cannot connect to google servers)..well..im in germany! so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. again, sorry for a noob question. thanks all!

Managed to root my phone today but i'm having some problems,

I cant seem to get my wireless to work
some of the apps from before i rooted dont seem to be available for some reason on the market?

Ok so I'm new to this whole "rooting" process. I've wanted to root my phone for a while now but with all these crazy technical terms like rc29 and fat32 Iam SUPER confused ! =o[ I just got my g1 in white (previous was black) I want to find out all I can about rooting and what it will do to my phone & what not I have a data plan with tmobile as well as insurrence on the phone, have a 1gb sd card and pretty much everything the standard. G1 is suppose to come with. I've read numerous postings but their all VERY VEGUE ! If anyone could help me understand a little bit better about how the whole rooting process works I would really appreciate it ! =o]

I have a Droid Eris from HTC. I have read through a few pages now. Some concerns I have are:
1) I don't have a camera button and the instructions say to press it.
2) Any other backup app than MyBackup

You are going to need to find out the APN information for the mobile network operator you are using in Germany. Then add that information before you can log in to Google or indeed access the Internet via the mobile network operator.

When you first try to log in you should press the Menu button which will bring up a link to "Add an APN" (or similar).

To find the APN details you should be able to just do a Google search for it.
