Yes, SMS/text is certainly an option. do you think a confirmation dialog screen would be required like on search tweet? or just submit the message immediately like on search calendar?

The kind of thing that works well on this concept is a situation which requires unique input each time. Like an sms. A command like "wifi off" is easier to do with an icon.
An other thing which works well is where the suggestions can immediately show one or more results for the typed input. Like in the calculator.

great ideas! i personally dont like how the new global search works now but it is handy.
what i mean by i dont like how it works is that i used to be able to open the apps tab and tipe "w" and it would show all the apps within the tab, but now if i open the tab and type it gets out of the app tab and starts a global search
yes i guess you could say its the same thing but i was used to the other option

It could be used for more simple things aswell; for example, type in battery & it will tell you the current percentage, type in weather and it will tell you the current degree.. This QSB has great potential that could be put to great use

I installed Search Calculator and selected it from the Settings page, but when I type an equation into the search box, no calculations come up... Only searches from google? Is there something I'm not doing right?
