Here is my(Keem from G1profiles.ning.com) top apps guide that was made AFTER Cupcake. So for all noobs or vets, check it out, you might see an app you didn't know about before. These have all been tested by ME so i can assure they are not malicious and none seem to be an abnormal battery drain in the background. lol

Also if u wanna see the app market online u can go on www.cyrket.com on any computer/laptop to view the newest apps available or just simply check from ur phone. If u have any questions, just msg me.

These are POST cupcake apps so i know they all run fine on cupcake. QUICK AND EASY, Also go there to see the guide on how to get tethering from your G1 without root, works PERFECTLY.

Apps are in no specific order. To search for these, just remember the name, open your market then start typing and it will search the market and you can download directly. Sometimes things may not be found or you have to scroll to find them, type one word, first or last word of the app name to find the app if you have problems locating it in the market.

I have ALL off these apps or have had them so this guide is in my opinion!!!

<b><u>TOP 20 MUST HAVE APPS</u></b>


1. Ahome CUPCAKE- $3 or the Lite Version is FREE (one of the best home alternatives out there. Install this and you can use custom themes, widgets and revamp the whole home screen appearance WITHOUT having to ROOT your phone. Most themes you download are free

**alternative, DXTOP, does the same stuff but has a diamond shape layout so you swipe, up down, left or right to go to the other screens. Seems to be FASTER than the others in my opinion

2. Steel -FREE( ONLY IF you dont like the default web browser, this is an Alternate Web Browser with tabs, touch screen zoom and more.)

3. Any Cut- FREE (lets u create shortcuts on ur homescreen for webpages, certain programs, activiies and etc)

4. Visual voicemail- FREE (visual voicemail app from Phone fusion, lets u see voicemails and play them right from the phone instead of having to dial a number to hear your voicemail)

5. Handcent sms- FREE (make this your default sms app, this is an sms app with themes, custom chat bubbles, and fully compatible for picture messaging)--Better than chomp to me, i just made the switch

6. Sms Popup - FREE ( sms/mms will pop up on the screen when u receive it, iphone style.)

7. Ringdroid- FREE ( lets u make ur own ringtones and use them on the phone)
-----Also download RINGS EXTENDED to be able to set your mp3 songs as a ringtone, MAKE IT your DEFAULT WHEN ASKED.

8. Luk Luk- FREE (MUCH better video player app than default video player and you can download full movies and tv shows on your memory card from there too)

9. Toggle Settings Cupcake- FREE (ultimate app to toggle all settings and stuff like wifi, gps, ringer mode, airplane mode, auto sync, screen brightness on/off and etc on the phone so u don't have to open separate menus to change settings, even has option to stay in notification bar for easy access. This app has battery profiles as well but i havent used them because i have Power Manager)

10. Note Everything - A note (notepad) application where you can create text-, voice- and paint-notes. Your notes can be organized in folders. You can create shortcuts on home, send notes, use live folders & much more!

11. My Backup PRO- $5( program to backup ur settings,home screen icons, msgs and etc to your Sd card or online in case u wanna erase ur phone, u can load it all back quick and easy after a memory flash/wipe or device exchange)

*** I recommend APPMANAGER for those who dont wanna pay $5, its FREE and lets you fully backup your APPS only and install them if you ever want them back.

12. Close Everything 2 - FREE (program that will close all background programs in case one or two of them seems to be draining ur battery by not being fully closed)

13. Voice Recorder - FREE (lets u use ur phone as a voice recorder and I think u can record phone calls as well)

14. DgQuickCut - FREE (you can make home screen shortcuts to do specific tasks suck as calling or texting someone on your home screen with one tap)

15. Battery Monitor- $1 (COOL widget app. you can use it as a widget or it displays in your notification bar letting you know the battery percentage or make it a home screen widget

16. Contact Owner - Display your contact information when the device is locked, allowing the finder to contact you in case you lose your phone.

17. No Signal Alert- detects when your phone is in a "dead zone" or with zero bars and sends a customized alert of your choice (sound, vibrate, notification, led).

18. Download Crutch Lite - Allows you to download files from the browser that you normally would not be able to, saves them to your sd card.

19. AutoLock- Annoyed by the need to constantly draw your lock pattern when the screen turns off? With AutoLock, your phone will only lock after you leave it alone for some time.

20. QuickSearch- With just a quick touch you can search in one of a dozen web pages. Just type or speak the text and choose the button for the appropriate website.

<b><u>Top 30 Apps, not essential but a SURE download to make your device much better
</u></b>

1. Where- this APP IS THE S##T, has all the news, movies showtimes, weather, info and etc that you need all in one program, this is a MUST and its FREE for now.

2. Ebuddy - FREE (multi support IM client, it runs pretty smooth and u can be logged on to all ur screen names at once, AIM, YAHOO, MSN, GTALK, FACEBOOK CHAT.)

3. Hi Aim - FREE ( If you want separated dependable messaging program then download this. it disconnects a few times but i chatted hours straight before with no disconnect)

4. Hi Msn -FREE ( good stand alone messaging app for MSN users)

5. Moov - Just type 3 letters on your homescreen to access everything on your phone and the web: your contacts, media, settings, nearby restaurants, Facebook friends, Netflix queue, Wikipedia, 411, and much more.

6. Myspace app -( I personally just go to myspace on the browser because this app aint to great but people love it)

7. Shop Savvy- FREE (lets u scan a barcode for an item and it shows u who has the lowest price in ur neighborhood or online)

8. Pkt Auctions Ebay - FREE (The BEST most efficient ebay app, lets you find items, buy them and use ALL ebay services right from your phone.)

9. Yahoo Mobile Web- Access new Yahoo of mobile, faster than default browser.

10. App Manager- FREE (tired of that SLOW uninstall reloading process through the default menu? this program helps you uninstall much faster than the default AND you can backup all your apps and install apps from SD with this program)

11. My Coupons- If you prefer great discounts & FREE meals over paying full price, you need My Coupons! Simply display phone to cashier to redeem, or print from any computer.

12. Picsay- another photo editing application, some people like comeks better, some people like this app better, you be the judge.

13. OI Shopping List - FREE (lets you keep track of your shopping items. You can also use it for other kinds of check lists, for example for ToDo lists or party guest lists.)

14. Twidroid - FREE ( Clean and FULL service Twitter app, the best one in my opinion)


15. Tmobile My Account - FREE (this app lets you view your tmobile info, minutes used, payment due, phone information and etc, pretty cool uder interface too)

16. Auto Lock - Tired of your phone locking and having to always enter your security code? downlaod this and it lets your phone sleep but you can set the settings on how long until your security protection comes up

17. Go to Url - FREE and there is a paid version( lets you jump straight to a website or search if you type it in the box, instead of waiting for the broswer to load then you type the url in.

18. Backgrounds - FREE if you wanna find new backgrounds to download, this applications simplifies it for you, very straight forward.

19. Wertago- App that shows u the hot spots around ur town for the weekend. You can also comment on other peoples pictures and upload ur own for fun/to be social

20. Live Chat AND/OR Cupcake LITE - FREE (chat applications where people get on and chat it up about various topics.)

21. Bookmarker- one click program that lets you see all your bookmarks and click on them then it loads up in the browser

22. Photoslide- costs $1 but its pretty cool, lets you slide across the screen and view your pics, better than the default picture viewer apps

23. Text Easy- lets you select your recipents you want to text all at once.

24. Mobile Defense - FREE (lets you check your phones gps location and alert it from the computer and it will temporarily activate your gps and text the other phone back with the location of your lost or stolen phone.

25. Translate - An application that uses Google's translation service to translate between more than 150 language pairs. This new version will require access to your Contacts in order to let you email or SMS your translations.

26. Comeks - FREE (picture editing program, can add cool effects)

27. Shazam - FREE (lets u get song information by letting ur phone hear the song)

28. ScoreBoard - FREE ( sports app, lets u get score updates and stuff based on ur favorite teams, ALL sports are supported, alerts you when your favorite teams play, quarter by quarter scores and other updates that you prefer)

29. StreamFurious- FREE (lets u stream music of any type, anywhere in the world. You'll never be without music)

30. Walkie Talkie - $4 (cool walkie talkie app for the G1, its pretty fast, u can add ur gmail friends only.)

<b><u>------------------------------------------TOP 5 CUPCAKE WIDGETS TO USE OR DOWNLOAD FOR YOUR HOMESCREEN----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</u></b>

<i>For the noobs, to set widgets on your homescreen, go to your home screen, the page you want to have a widget on, HOLD YOUR FINGER on the screen in an empty space then when that sub menu comes up, click on WIDGET to place a widget on the homescreen, try it out, they are a great addition.</i>

1. Launcher Dock - A Simple app dock WIDGET!! Docks up to 8 apps/contacts and a custom name.

2. Music Widget(comes installed on cupcake already) - lets you play music right from the home screen, no need to open music player anymore

3. Calendar(comes with cupcake) - see your calendar events on your homescreen and upcoming events.

4. Weather widget(in market) - set your hometown zipcode and see the daily/weekly weather updates in your area. Set the auto refresh to about 5 hours or so.

5. Digital Clock(download)
