I'm wondering what programs people are waiting for... not what they'd like to see, but programs which are already announced, but haven't yet hit the market, or perhaps accessories for the G1 which have been announced.
Here's my "What I'm waiting for" list....
1. TouchPal-
Even if/when Google does add a virtual keyboard to the Android OS, this program seems like it should be great! Auto completes your words for you, corrects misspelled words, uses a K9 type keyboard, and anticipates what you're trying to type, based on content!
Sounds great!
(curious... has anyone used TouchPal for the Blackberry or WM already, and if so, how do you like it?)
2. Shortcovers-
Supposedly launching Feb. '09, this company has ties to the publishing world, and will be releasing thousands of books and magazine articles for reading on your Android device. If they really do release current, NY Times Best Seller type books for the Android, I'll gladly pay $10 (the price they've announced for full books) for the convenience of reading it on my G1, and always having it available.
I happen to really enjoy reading on my G1, and have read several books already with BooksOnPhone, another great program.
3. NRU-
In an unfamiliar area, and looking for a restaurant/theater/night club?
NRU (Near You) will bring up a radar type screen, with dots showing you the establishments of the type you've selected. Say you select "Restaurants"... Hold your G1 up, and a radar type screen displays which direction different restaurants are located! Tap on one of the dots, and the name of the restaurant along with a link for full description appears!
My explaination doesn't do this program justice, but it does sound like one of those programs you'll show off to your iPhone buddies! (Needs a compass and GPS, so sorry Apple FanBoys, no NRU for U!
So... what are YOU waiting for?
what am i waiting for? any app that will change my entire android experience....
The next big thing!
:~)

A rhapsody app that will allow me to browse rhapsody and download rhapsody-to-go tracks onto my G1 and play them, as I would on a rhapsody enabled mp3 player.
The Ibiza Rhapsody (soon to be Ibiza touch) has this down. But I see no reason why a G1 couldnt do it
How about a TV/Movie app (STABLE)

I am looking for NRU still yes,
I am waiting on a good turn by turn GPS app.
I am waiting on something to make stereo bluetooth a reality so that I can hook this beast up to muh bimmer..
I am waiting on something to combine all of my internet radio, mp3, and movies (more than just mp4) into one solid app that has syncing with desktop, custom station creation features, play list tools such as "play most played" "play least played", etc...
I am also very anxious to see some good 3D gaming.. I bought that stuck in a room game app.. yeah cool neato 3D world woot but.... ugg... dumb dumb dumb and I feel raped for my money money money..
Also waiting for someone to put the "wow" in geocaching.. maybe geocouching? eh j/k.. Anyways I want it to overlay gMaps with custom route creation rules for GPS - photo bookmarks of course, optional user cache DL, and lite social networking on an open framework so not everybody I wanna cache with has to own G1 or even iP
Also want Mint.com mobile (although it works pretty good as of right now just goign to the site)
And I would really like to see a good weather/traffic cam/weather alert/geo-alert app that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

actually on a serious not im looking for a decent video app that surpasses the ipod one. one similar to the psp.
hands down, the psp has the best video player i have ever seen on any handheld device.
im tired of everything wanting to mimic the iphone... why wont some1 mimic the psp?
its stable has a plethora of menu options (for crying out loud its got A-B repeat and you can choose the playback speed!)
i would code one my self but stuff like this scares the crap out of me:
/*
* Outputs "Hello, World!" and then exits
*/
public class HelloWorld {
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("Hello, World!");
}
/*
* Outputs "Hello, World!" and then exits
*/
public class HelloWorld {
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("Hello, World!");
}
