I bought one on Amazon, but it's giving me static in my headphone when the USB charge/sync side is plugged into a computer or the charger. It's noticeable when the phone's music volume is low. I'm wondering if this is common, or if I just bought a dud.

This is the one I bought:

I have one of these. I use it mostly in the car with the car charger, and 3.5mm input leading to my aux/ipod adapter in my Acura. works great

I still have the charger/11 pin pigtail from my T-Mobile Dash. I just ordered the $5.95 3.5mm jack to plug into the 11 pin side of the pigtail. I also ordered the custom fit screen protectors (I still have the protective shipping cover on my screen ).

So if you had a Dash (or any other HTC manufactured device), save yourself a little money and just order the cheap 3.5mm jack.

This is the "pigtail" I am talking about.

I also purchased one from Amazon, and have the buzzing when USB is attached.

Static or a buzz, right? I'm having the same issues with mine as well, and it's driving me crazy.

    i believe most of the 2in1 don't have a 3.5mm jack. i believe most 2in1 have
    1. 11-pin mini USB port for connecting a hands-free headset
    2. 5-pin mini USB port for connecting a charger or data sync cable

but no 3.5mm unless you get the 3-in-1 or you have an adapter for the 5-pin/11-in to a 3.5mm jack to use your headset/earphones but that would just be dumb. might as well just get the 3-in-1 adapter cause it has the 3.5mm jack.
