Pfft, yea right. Took a total of 1/2 man hours to earn these babies.
The G1's stock headphones didn't feel right and I <3 my koss in ear headphones but I didn't want to cut them to replace the G1's headphones. Also I didn't want to create a USB-to-Headphone adapter, cause then I'll cut out the mic. So the easiest way is shown.
Instructions:
1) Popped open the little black box on the G1's stock headset
2) Snip headphones off G1's stock headset. bye bye
3) Find ground on stock headset (2 copper wires), tie them together.
4) Scramble to find a 3.5mm socket.
5) Trial/error and hope that I didn't mix the left-right speaker connections.
Cons.
Ugly, long wires, flimsy, water element attacks adds 50000% damage.
To-DO:
Put on some epoxy or sculpting paste to cover the exposed internals.
.. yoga time.

Damnit I should have found this before I destroyed a pair of headphones that I had from my Shadow. They worked great on the G1.
Thanks, but I won't try these with my current headset. I need it![]()

Nothing more than connecting colored wires.
Google Chrome OS??
Props for being geek chic enough to know how to solder. I think, though, I'd have gone to Radio Smack and gotten a PCB-mount jack if it would fit, or if nothing else, a little end-of-wire socket. I actually have some of each here in a drawer I've been thinking of using on mine.
Or I might just go and buy the $5 adapter. Dunno yet. Haven't truly needed it yet.
