It would need to be an exact fit so I would not recommend it.

Your traditional hard screen protector don't work on capacitive touch screens, because it require a electrical current(your finger) to detect you touching the screen, not pressure like a Nintendo DS resistive touch screen.

I would definitely wait for an InvisiShield to come out or something similar that is made for the G1. You wouldn't want to buy the perfect phone and not have the perfect cover haha
