I haven't bought a micro-SD card since my last Treo 650 which was a Sandisk 2 gb card. Now they hvae 8 gb and 16 gb cards available but I don't know what specs to look for.

According to that search, I can find a kingston 16 gb microsd card for between $49 to $73. Is that a good price or do they have better brands?

Thanks for the quick reply. There's generally no real difference in speed between the brands for the micro sd cards? I don't wanna end up with a crappy one =\. I'm sure I can survive on a 8 gb ^_^ Do you recommend anyone in particular?

I think your search was for a regular 16gb flash memory, NOT a micro SD. If you are micro to the search phrase, there will be no results.
My opinion, continue using your 2GB for now, by Thanksgiving, there will be more options and discounted items to choose from, then you can but your G1 a christmas present. That's what I plan to do.

I don't plan on loading my phone with tons of music, and don't want to shell out $100 so I went with a 6 Class 8G for $35.
Anyone else think its weird were buying accessories for our phones before we get them? I haven't even pre-ordered! Lol

dkvitus, btw, you mispelled andrOid in your signature.. hahahahaha. sorry buddy, i just noticed.
Personally I like to stick with SanDisk cards and typically go for the largest card. The speed of the card really will not make a difference on the phone itself unless you are trying to push through full HD vidoe files on a screen that can't even handle them or are goign through a slideshow of images you took with you other 10 MegaPixel camera. Higher card speeds to come in handy when you are transfering media file to and from your memory card. Filling a 16GB class 2 card with tv shows, or MP3 files could take up to 133 minutes, a class 4 would take 66 minutes, a class 6 would take 44 minutes.
Kepp in mind though that it will be rare that you will be filling the entire card all at one time. Every few weeks I swap out a whole season of tv shows (2-3GB) and a few hundred songs (500MB) and it takes less than 10 minutes on my class 4 card.
