Android Facebook and IM Questions.

Ok guys so I got two questions.
First wondering if there is only one Facebook available through the market that can be downloaded on the phone? That application is very simple, slow and full of bugs. Basically it is the mobile version of the facebook page. Anyone who has used the facebook app on iphone from the app store will know what I am talking about when I say that the latest update of that facebook version was quite nice with possibilities of doing lots of things including the inbuilt facebook chat, notification features etc most of things that are only possible through the actual facebook website you coiuld do on it. Now I fail to understand why can't they make a similar app for the g1? Is there one that exists that maybe I am just missing? Any future possibilities of getting a proper update on this application?

My second question relates to the IM application of the g1. I am in UK and using O2 and I have saved my windows live username and password in it however whenever I try to connect to msn I get the error saying 'your phone number could not be read from the sim card, contact your service provider'. I have no idea why it gives me this error and doesn't work. When I was over in Canada over the christmas breaks and had a Rogers sim card in the phone, this application worked flawlessly and without any problems but just doesn't work in the UK. Could it have anything to do woth the fact that in UK I am on 2g or 3g when I try to connect and in Canada I was using wifi? I doubt that is the problem because of the weird error I get.

I would really appreciate if someone could tend to my questions as they have been bothering me quite some time and tonight I decided to post 'em up by typing on my g1!

Facebook has "beef" with Google so...
We'll have to wait for a 3rd party dev to create a Facebook app,
that has all the features of the regular Facebook included.

As far as MSN, I saw a lot of posts pertaining to the UK and MSN problems.
Try searching and see what you find. That question has probably been answered already.

You have a foreign G1, right? Either that or you've flashed it with foreign firmware because the UK G1 doesn't come with any IM clients except Google Talk, it's down to licensing issues with T-Mobile and the individual IM companies, the Sidekick in the UK has the same issue and for a long time only had AIM, to this day it still doesn't have MSN either.

It's been stated a number of times, but foreign firmware won't work in the UK when it comes to the IM clients. You'll have to use a third-party app for IM at the moment, if you use AIM then make sure you get 'Hello AIM!' from the market, it's great and very stable.

Unfortunately there isn't an equivalent for MSN at the moment. Meebo supports it, but it's a very unstable program at the moment and will constantly sign you out.
