This was like the first app I installed, it was awesome. The ultimate wow factor for amazing my friends. I scanned everything, and most things came right up. However now today I tried scanning some powerade, that I had previously scanned, and it said product not found. This is weird b/c it was the exact same powerade bottle that I scanned the other day and it came right up.
I had that same problem yesterday. I sacanned a hand full of products at target and they didn't come up. I think they may have been having a database issue since I went back into Shopsavvy take last night and looked at my history and the prices showed up.
i scanned several items with "compare everywhere" and "shop savvy" and was very dissapointed.
only 3 items were found in the database, 1 showed the wrong item and maybe 20 were not found at all.

ShopSavvy doesn't give me results all that often :/
If you're having trouble with ShopSavvy, then try CompareEverywhere.
I get the same thing on occasion. Not sure why, except that maybe I don't have a good connection and it gives up? - but it should tell you that there is no connection, not "no product found", right?
I have the EXACT same problem.
Sometimes the app finds the product, other times it doesn't. It doesn't seem to matter the popularity of the product. I've scanned a Hershey's bar and nothing came up, whereas I've scanned a Reese's Bar and a whole list of prices have come up.
Also, I've NEVER received a local result.
Wow, least it thought your reeses bar was reeses,, it told me my can of coke was a 9v battery and that a box of eh'hem, feminine products was a cordless drill.![]()

I used it once or twice but the only online result I saw was Amazon, no local. I also find using the camera as a barcode scanner suboptimal because it has to scan in the ambient light--I have to position the phone and barcode so there's enough light on it for the phone to see.
If this phone had an LED flash, though, that would make the scanning work soooo much better.
So a couple of things here, we pull most of our pricing data from online sources, so if it's something that's not commonly sold online (food items, etc) then we're less likely to have any pricing data for it..
Also, we don't have our own database of items, we aggregate from 3rd parties, sometimes these 3rd parties have server issues, too much latency, so the results unfortunately aren't always consistent. We're working to improve this..
We're really working hard to improve the local data, it's a young app, but over time I think we can get much better local results..
