Default Android Market more appealing to developers that App Store?

I really think developers are going to be all over the Android OS and really take advantage of the Android Market. Apple has taken down several really useful applications and some harmless ones. There application approval system has been proven time and time again to not work. At least once a day

I go on the iPhone's App Store and see smaller and smaller numbers in the categories. With that being said there really is not limit to what developers can do with Android Market. I can see a lot of developers, especially the ones turned away by Apple coming over to make this incredible.

would have to completely agree with you... after being an owner of the original 8 gig iphone and having to jailbreak, along with the 3g after that i would have to say that i'm never purchasing another apple product ever... whether it be ipod or not, my principles stay stronger than product advancement if i feel negative toward the company that manufactured it...

some of their decisions as far as the app store and decisions with the phone itself are shady to me... sure leaving out certain hardware and putting in their next generation phone is a way to make money and keep loyalty, but 3g has been out for how long? i won't make this anymore of a apple bash post than it is, but all i can say is thank the lord for google and the OHA

They are definitely good at what they do and make some amazing devices, but with that there practices are very different and often not understood by the consumer. If we knew the reasons behind everything we wouldn't be so hostile toward there products. The jailbreaking on the new iPhone is rediculous I know.

I know you guys are talking about the podcaster app as an example...

That's Apple way of doing things... Apple purposefully holds back some features so that they can get people buying new versions of their phones..... They probably have planned to build in the functionality of the app in thier next version of iPhone... same with copy & paste... These feature will be the highlights of their next hollywood style press conferences...

I can already imagine Steve Jobs saying in their next conference....."Now, the iPhone 3G was a phenomenal success.... this year we decided to make it even better.....now you can copy & paste, you can also stream & download podcasts on the go... isn't that cool! Isn't that awesome! This is definitely the device to have".....applause...applause....applause.

This is just plain stupidity. If i were a developer, i would never consider developing for iPhone... getting rejected just because i made a better app than your own ... does that promote innovation? It's time apple fans realise that they are being treated like sheeps by apple.... they deserve better apps whether or not it is made by apple.... they paid for their phone...they own it...they should decide what app should be on their phone.....

I guess as an android fan i couldn't be more happy! all those developers will now be heading towards android where end users decide whether or not their app is worthy of downloading & not some control freak CEO....

Open source is the way to go!

I like the idea of a open platform because there can be multiple apps that do the exact same thing but in a different order but will make it easyer for different users in different ways because of 1 or 2 differnt steps. Us people are not sheeps and dont always go threw the same steps to get our similar or same end result. Open platform ROCKS!!!!

Extremely well put! If I had the choice between developing for a locked down phone in hopes of the company maybe accepting it, and developing for a completely open phone w/ no restrictions, I don't think it would be a hard choice.

day by day apple imo is loosing developers to the android. not only are they limited but APPLE has treated the developing community like 'slaves' for decades. google and its founders truly know how to have fun with things.
