if this phone never gets a2dp, i will setup my camcorder in the street, and continuosly run over my g1 and post it to youtube. i will then either go back to winmo or just get me a jitterbug. i'll give it a couple more months. i'm tired of this os anyways. looks aren't everything. the email is from the stone ages. no animated mms? what's the point? i can just send a picture in an email. i can't even get animation on the home screen. that's trivial,but there are so many things about this os that leave me feeling like i got ripped off. just my 2 cents.

Um the full list of features was known and published before the phone was even available. So you are bitching about buying a phone which doesn't have a feature, that two seconds of searching could have told you it doesn't have.

If you don't like the phone, sell it and never darken the forums again. Otherwise, be patient, wait like the rest of us, or God forbid contribute something to the community apart from the rantings of the ignorant.

Maybe that's the point of these smartphones lacking "basic" functionality like MMS -- why use MMS when you can use email, which is much more robust and doesn't cost $0.10 per message?

Not that I'm agreeing with that guy or anything, but one of the reasons MMS is important, is because not everyone has a smartphone thats capable of e-mail. There are quite a few people still sporting Razr's, and Boost phones are real popular (at least in my neck of the woods) because they feature 50 dollar unlimited talk plans now.

Also, I'm far personally far more interested in the OBEX profile anyway. That and the virtual keyboard are on my hit-list. Screw stereo bluetooth

As far as I can understand this articles makes perfect sense. The first part of the article the author was just repeating what HE/SHE read as well. In other words he was putting the "rumor" out there just incase anyone missed it and then he goes into explaining what's "really" going on. The last part about the RC33/RC9 is exactly that, he/she is combining the two together and saying that these features weren't all included in the release because RC9 still doesn't have Latitude. So it makes sense.

Now for the other smart a$$'s commenting on here. Comments such as

That's genius -- spend close to $200 for a device and if it doesn't have a single feature, literally throw that $200 away and spend more money to buy another phone that will never have said feature. It must be great knowing that your job is secure in these difficult economic times -- so secure that you can more than afford to throw away $200 here and there.

is retarded. As far as anyone is concerned this community is open to anyone that wishes to speak about the OS and the Phone... this includes negative talk. All these people that back up this OS and Phone like that remind me of no less than an APPLE geek defending their OS. People on here will like and hate things about this phone and to tell them that they can't say negative things on here about ANDROID because it's "immoral" or because it goes against all thing's android is- well IGNORANT lol.
If this is not the case and the MODS really think it should be only die hard fans then they should make it private and only pick the elite ones to come to this community.

People are more then welcome to say whatever they want including all things negative but the problem is that the things people keep bítching about all the time are redundant issues/annoyances that have been covered several times before and they are flogging a dead horse by continuing to bring the sh*t up.

If something comes up that hasn't been covered before please do and people will provide insightful responses. Otherwise people that continue to drone on and on about the same inane topics day after day are opening themselves to be ridiculed.

Just because YOU see something being posted about over and over again doesn't mean the same for the other/s. We have new people coming in all the time and as hard it is to believe (I'm actually stuned, no BS) they don't know how to use the search bar (which I would also like to add, many of the members in the beginning were having trouble with so nothing new here). So as much as I would like to concur with you about people deserving to be ridiculed it's hard to do so.
In the end, CUPCAKE + FORUMS = BAD ^_^'

The way all of my service providers have been desperately trying to milk me for extra money lately _ i am just going to go on with he belief that since the cupcake update would be "free" - they wont be giving it to the G1 - they have no reason to except to satisfy their customers.. why would they want to do that?
