Mockup. Mark my words. I know people will hate me for saying it. But this is not a "leaked demo of a build". It's an animated design mockup.

Mockup or not, I guess we will just have to wait and see. If it does turn out to be reality though, it will be very nice indeed.

Looks to me like HTC is moving away from so many hardware buttons with this one. Looks like most of those functions have been moved to the screen.

Hmmm well I am pretty sure now that our home screen wont be looking like the one in the video, but there are vids with people showing the actual G1 run the apps.

    Very nice...

I don't think most people realize what it really means for Android to be open source. You're going to start seeing the phone makers make heavy customizations and probably adopt their own look and feel for their line of phones. The UI may become unique to each manufacturer. Whats even more interesting is that developers can do some of these things independent of the manufacturers. It may take some work but I'm willing to bet based on some of the things I see in aHome that you could start to approach this level of look and feel right now. With the ability to root phones and change the firmware at will (don't know if that will be the case for future phones) we'll almost always be able to take advantage of the new features out there. This has got to add up to one of the most customizable phone platforms out there PERIOD.

And just another note on that UI. IPhone and Pre are dead if that hits the streets any time soon.

That why I love Android, it is constantly evolving. Who can even guess how good it will be in a couple years
