    Default Canadians get cheaper Android devices on Rogers

    Among the best news fans of Android devices can get from their carriers is that prices are coming down. In fact, the only people who don't like price cuts on devices are those who bought the day before the price was reduced.

    Cool Re: Canadians get cheaper Android devices on Rogers

    "wacky Canadian loot"?
    I feel offended by the comments about our funny money... Hey the CAD was worth 0.9115 US this morning. Not that far off.

    Actually Best Buy Canada is selling them for $49.99 right now. Don't think Android went over as well as expected in Canada, trying to sell off the stock I thinks.

    It's cheaper at BestBuy when you buy online!

    I'm still waiting for the Hero!

    I can't wait to get a new phone. I'm dying to get the Hero but I'm thinking about settling for the Magic. I hate technology.

    Only difference I see is the camera... The Sense UI can be loaded in the Magic

    Wrong the Magic has the same RAM 288MB, same Video support if you look through HTC's specs. It also has Multitouch (all Android phones do as far as I know) And the Sense UI will be an official release for the Magic in the next couple of months. Supposed to be before the end of August but I'm guessing October sometime.

    @eblanchette

    The differences are

    - headphone jack
    - 5mp camera

    The rest is the exact same (for the rogers version of the magic at least)

    There are 2 magics : 32A board and 32B board.

    32A : 288 Mb ram
    32B : 192 Mb ram

    Rogers = 32A board

    Please note that the current build of the Hero Sense UI on the Magic is quite slow and unresponsive.

    Multitouch support and stuff are only software related as I managed to get them on the Magic hardware.

    Hope it clarifies it.

    For me the Magic (32A) is a very good device that is almost as good as the HTC Hero.

    You must have a bad build or bad flash, mine is anything but slow or unresponsive.
