Guys, it says cupcake elements, because "cupcake" is not an update, the sooner everyone gets on the same page about that, the sooner it will make sense to you all. Cupcake is a development branch, so the elements from their branch are what is being sent out.

So everyone with a G1 is going to get a new battery?
FACT - T-Mobile’s plan for battery improvement will be one of OR a combination of efficiencies in an OTA update and an extended life battery replacement.
That's cool that they are doing this. I'm ordering a G1 today and have heard mixed reviews about the battery. I'll have to see how it goes over for me.![]()
cupcake is a development branch. If you notice the roadmap, it says, cupcake has been merged to master. Not elements of cupcake has been merged to master. T-mobile said elements, therefore they may not be using all the code from the cupcake branch.
Also, how can you be sure that the cupcake development branch will continue. It may change it's name or something, where have you read that cupcake is continuing to develop? The cupcake section of the Google roadmap lists a bunch of changes that the "cupcake branch" has coded. So as far as we know, cupcake is an update. It may not be the official name but who are you say what cupcake is or is not, unless you are in the cupcake development branch. Then I'll shut up.
Call it whatever the hell you weant to call it, I'm pretty sure everyone is referring to the next big update when they say "cupcake".
I'm almost 100% sure that Obama is going to release cupcake to the masses this tusday, the change he was talking about was for Android!
I just called customer service and was told an update was sent ou and will continue to go out to feb. I was told it started the first week of jan.
I asked what update it was and she told me she didn't have that info.
I doubt this is the one we are waiting for, but I called just incase the call center getting a lot of calls makes a diference.
My experience is the squeeky wheel gets the most greese works.
