then the whole process of mixing the items needed

as long as those little sprinkles are added at the end

Also, how can you be sure that the cupcake development branch will continue. It may change it's name or something, where have you read that cupcake is continuing to develop? The cupcake section of the Google roadmap lists a bunch of changes that the "cupcake branch" has coded. So as far as we know, cupcake is an update. It may not be the official name but who are you say what cupcake is or is not, unless you are in the cupcake development branch. Then I'll shut up.

Call it whatever the hell you weant to call it, I'm pretty sure everyone is referring to the next big update when they say "cupcake".

I'm almost 100% sure that Obama is going to release cupcake to the masses this tusday, the change he was talking about was for Android!

I didn't say it would continue, or if it came off that way i didn't mean it to. I agree that maybe they won't use all the code, but i think the only code that wouldn't be sent to the phone would be something that it couldn't use, not simply just because.

And the sole reason i believe it is a branch not an update, is because its called the cupcake development branch.

I agree completely. This will be a non-issue in a month. We should be worried about *real* issues, not more speculation.

Thumbs up Re: Facts surface about Cupcake elements in a new T-Mobile G1 update

Shawn thanks for the mention - I even had to check back at my post to see if I had put OHA in rather than OTA - phew, I didnt put that in the original

There are hints (RUMORS) that the update would start rolling out on this or next Sunday - but minimalize expectations for end of month.

The Android Community here is GREAT, love the forum and cite it in my posts like on getting a proper screenshot without root - http://androidcommunity.com/forums/110590-post24.html

Which I will do and post on Google And Blog once I get the update here in San Diego as the SouthWest US is supposed to be first in the roll.

T-Mobile's G1 dept also told me I was out of luck when I got my G1 a month ahead of release. They told me I couldn't use a Blackberry data plan with the phone, and they were quite wrong.

In other words, they aren't facts.

This brings to mind a few questions about rooting of the G1, since I have been circling around that issue, but haven't done it (level of difficulty issue):

Does this mean when the "cupcake" update comes out, if we haven't yet modded our phones, then we are SOL, we must root our phones before the cupcake update or it will be too late?

For those with modded phones, can they accept the cupcake update? Or must they wait until someone mods the update so that the modded phones will accept it?

If you update comes around, and you don't accept it (say because you want to mod your phone first), will the update be offered to you again later?
