<p>We're not entirely sure where they acquired it - or perhaps who they had to bribe - but CoolSmartPhone have managed to find an HTC Hero for a few days of play. Their unboxing video inexplicably starts with a brief wildlife watch, and takes place one-handed in aÂcar, but we'll cut them some slack; after all, we all know what it's like to ... Very odd!... the video itself.

I can't stand how people say "H." It's like when people say ATM Machine or PIN Number, and the dreaded libary. Gets under the skin!
I want that phone, but I don't want to give up my Physical Keyboard... Maybe I can get two, or maybe I should find a job first.
I am still really liking this phone more and more every day i see more coverage of it. I am saddened to see that this will be comming to sprint and not T mobile, as I have had my G1 since Oct 08, and was considering the my touch 3G untill I saw this being covered. It looks like the my touch3 g and the G1 will get some cooked roms to import heros features but would rather run the sense UI on its native hardware (the Hero). Maybe I will have to shell out the $700 for this phone unlocked![]()
Kind of an odd place to do an unboxing/demo video, but all the same, it looks great.
I really really want this phone, I would prefer to have it in black or another darker color simply because the white shows dirt much too easily.
The one and only thing that has me considering if I should even get this phone or not is the lack of a physical keyboard, I'm 6'5" tall so naturally I have big hands, and I dunno if typing on a touch keyboard will be that good for me, as compared to my phyiscal keyboard on my G1.
I'm in Sprint's hometown, near their World Headquarters, but I haven't seen or heard anything that Sprint will definitely get the Hero, only some rumors they're looking at it. T-Mobile has it in the UK, not that that means much. Have you got some other info you can share?
Be aware that if you get an unlocked European version 3G will not work on T-Mo's US network, only Edge.
As for the video, well, yeah, it's kinda strange. That WinMo guy really had no clue what to do with it.

This is the story I am reffering to http://androidcommunity.com/sprint-p...hone-20090629/ as far as an unlocked hero for Tmobile USA what you are saying makes sense about it only working on certain signals for 3 g but I like to be sure about things also before I take the plunge so I need to investigate more about if you can or can not get 3 g in the states on an unlocked hero.
this dude doesn't know what he's talkin about hero and the software ahha noob.
wierd video also.

That's one of the rumors I've seen, but it's nothing definite. At least let's hope it's not true. Other rumors say Sprint's Android phone will be a Samsung and Verizon will get the Hero. Who knows?
T-Mo uses 1700MHZ for 3G in the U.S. That's not used for 3G anywhere else in the world. T-Mo got stuck with it here 'cause, well, that's what was available. I seriously doubt you'll ever see an unlocked U.S. version of the Hero for sale....as far as an unlocked hero for Tmobile USA what you are saying makes sense about it only working on certain signals for 3 g but I like to be sure about things also before I take the plunge so I need to investigate more about if you can or can not get 3 g in the states on an unlocked hero.
