It doesn't allow "over the air" app downloading from the Market, because it's not a "with google" phone. Lame

i retract my previous statement... it still only has the same processor as the g1.... sigh.

Looks good. I'll probably get this one once it reaches the states just for the 288 megs of RAM.

Its basically the htc magic with the cpu clocked at 528mhz and headphone jack.

A bit disappointed regarding the cpu (was hoping for the same cpu as 3gs), but it should be pretty fast. Cyanogen 3.4.4 ROM is clocked at 528mhz and its very smooth on the g1.

The extra RAM should allow for lots of widgets without slowing down the phone.

Hopefully htc tweaked some of the internals so that we get 2d hardware acceleration. That should improve the UI responsiveness if they did that.

Chin doesn't look that great, but i'll live.

The HTC Exec just clarify saying that only the "over the air" firmware update is the problem and that the app download market is fine....

we need to get a dump of the firmware

hero looks hot, the ui even better, but.. it still doesn't differ much from g1 as specs go.. yea 5 mp cam, 288 mb ram, but still has same processor.. by the time it gets launched stateside, we'll probably be able to choose between hero or the huawei phone (G3)
    ALL White G1
    Cupcake
    Cyan 3.6.3
    Hero Theme 1.4.5

Are you sure that its clocked at 528MHz? Cuz if what you saying is true then that means people with the htc magic (the one with 288 megs of RAM) should have no problem running hero right now....

I dunno. Maybe its still underclocked to 384mhz.

I'm just assuming its clocked at 528mhz since all the hero ROMS have been quite sluggish running at 384mhz.
