HTC Hero ROM 2.73.405.5 rolling out [Update 2]

circa, are you on the T-mobile G2 by any chance?

HTC sent me this:

Thanks for your email. The reason it is not working is because you don't have an HTC hero. You have a T-Mobile G2 Touch. you need to contact T-Mobile and ask them when they are releasing the update for the G2. however, you may have trouble getting through to anyone who knows anything about it as their level 1 call centre agents generally have no idea what you are talking about when you ask about updates. the updates on our website are only for Generic HTC branded devices and will NEVER install on network devices. Yes I am, thankyou for that, kinda dissapointing.

I Bet it's not a priority for Tmobile to release phone software updates

Yeah, sucks a bit.

I managed to download it by changing the the S/N number by one digit.

Im not sure if I can install it, or what would happen if I tried.

Might try and get in touch with T-mobile but according to that message, I probably wont have any luck.

Anyone know the status of this update in the US? I purchased from my US carrier and I'm not sure if it has the latest ROM.

My Build # for the ROM is:
1.29.651.1

Hey guys you can download the ROM version 2.73.61.5 from the HTC official site. This update is for Orange UK only, however, I was thinking to test it...

But I havn't tested it yet. Can anybody advice, whether I should test it or not??
