    wowwwww

whats going to carry android is the devs and their apps. that's what's going to put android over the hump. i had windows mob for a few years and i prob added like two "apps". apple really change the game with the app store i must say. if windows mobile had it i may have tried more "apps". now windows mobile is creating some store. i think its called sky mart or something of that nature. i forget haa

i just dont' see the type of apps i have seen on the iphone on windows mobile. but i do see it for android.

uhh i think i just went off on a tangent

I know nothings Free but at least there should be a reasonable balance and care for the consumer as well and Google and the Android OS gives us hope of that balance and freedom to enjoy what we're spending our hard earned money for. And if Microsoft don't know/care enough about what consumers need in a search engine by now, they will never know. Google and Ask Jeeves have been the only Search Engines that I've used since owning a CPU and Microsoft still don't have a clue because they can't totally relate to the User's needs. Maybe Ballmer/Microsoft and companys with that same mindset will change with the Bad Economy's help. Google will make some Companys rise and some that don't want to change their greedy ways fall! I see the MobileNetEra making a True Start here.

I think you're under the mistaken impression that Google is producing Android out of the 'goodness of their hearts' and not to make more money from their lucrative ad business; the more people on the internet == the more ads in front of people's faces == the more revenue for Google. Google is a company, and the goal of every company is to make more money. Companies don't do things out of the goodness of their hearts because they have no hearts, just stockholders... who also have no hearts.

Getting back on topic, of course Microsoft isn't worried. When was the last time Microsoft worried about anything? Wii? Pfft, child's toy. Wait, what do you mean it outsells both the XBox 360 and PS3 combined? Well, um, ok, fine, let's mimic it on our own platform! Linux? Pfft, open source doohickey. Wait, what do you mean it's taking sales away from Windows? We better have SCO look into this for us. iPod? Pfft, who buys Apple MP3 players when they can buy a Zune instead? Wait, what do you mean Best Buy wants to give away a free Zune with every iPod purchase because they'll never get rid of them otherwise?
