Well, that means I won't be using the service. I also have a hard time believing it's an OS restriction. If other programs are able to check for web content, why can't PhoneFusion just check the servers for a new voicemail every minute or something? Twidroid is able to check Twitter for updates without text messages being used...

    Q. Can I stop the text messages that are sent to my G1 when I get a new message? The message looks like this: PFVM00000900000000000000. And why are they all in a single thread instead of individual messages?

    A. Unfortunately there is a design limitation in the G1 OS and there is nothing we can do to stop these text messages in their current format, as this is a Google restriction within the OS.

    Q. How do I register my Fusion Voicemail Plus application on my G1?

    A. In order for the application to work correctly you must install the application using the Android Market option within your device. At that point you will be brought to a web page to register your account.

Please keep the emails coming at androidfeedback@phonefusion.com
Are you just pasting in something from phonefusion or are you a phonefusion employee?

    1. download the program from the market

    2. go to the website that the program tells you to go via your computer, can do it through the g1 but it doesn't optimize the site very well

    3. register your phone number and make sure to write down the account number/user login that they gave you, as well as the password/pin that they sent you via text

    4. after registration and installation of the market app is completed, go to settings > call settings > call forwarding on your g1 and enter the following:

    Forward when busy
    Forward when unanswered
    Forward when unreachable

for all these sections put the voicemail number for fusion one, which is +1-813-200-0200

an alternative way of making all the forwarding features enabled and with the voicemail phone number is to use the following command on your dailer application:

    *004*18132000200#

and then press the send button... this command will enable your call forwarding and activate all of these options with that voicemail number... after you press send a box should pop up and say "Call forwarding service was enabled."

To double check that this is right, you can go back to settings > call settings > call forwarding and all numbers should show the new voicemail number

after that, log into your online account and send the test voicemail or try leaving yourself a voicemail message, it should work fine from then on...

obvious recommendation fusion team would be to add simplified directions for each phone model etc in your knowledge base... your online layout is horrid at best for your FAQ and knowledge base... the PDF's i don't mind cause i like it, but for general users its even more confusing...

Too bad but the extra text msg means goodbye to the app. Even if I had unlimited msgs the extra item to clear is a pain.

In that case I would like to tell you that to me this is a promising app, but I hope that you take the time to read the comments posted here carefully. The text message, I understand is needed with the current implementation, but is there no way for PhoneFusion to delete it after using it to retrieve the data it needs? Or how about a server based solution where the phone asks your sever every x number of minutes if there's a new voicemail? Finally, after having just set this app up on my phone I would like to tell you the instructions could use improvement. I'd be happy to tell you specifics where I felt they fell short.

The extra text message is annoying but i can live with it. what really grinds my gears is the caller ID doesn't show up just the number! arg!!!

Another vote here for removing the text message (for those of us that only have 400/month).

Also as someone else asked, is there a way to change / customize the VM greeting?

    Otherwise, this looks very promising!!!
